We manage several residential buildings on behalf of Catella. Our Area Managers play a key role in this partnership. They function as a linking pin between Catella and the residents, being on location, seeing what the buildings need, and making sure everything runs smoothly.
Catella invited our team to join their Property Management Day to strengthen this collaboration. It gave both sides the space to connect, share experiences, and talk about the work we do in the field. While building the insect hotels, our Area Managers exchanged insights with other property managers, creating an easy and practical way to learn from each other.
Placing the insect hotel across our properties
After the workshop, our Area Managers coordinated the placement of the insect hotels at the selected properties. They know the buildings and outdoor areas, so they were able to pick the right spots for each location.
The insect hotels are now installed in the shared gardens of Residentie Gerlachus in Maastricht, Lorentz in Zeist, Crown in Arnhem, Rive Republic in Capelle aan den IJssel, Hof van Vronestein, Wattbaan, and CORE in Nieuwegein. Each property now has a small but meaningful boost to its local biodiversity.

Why insect hotels matter
Insect hotels create safe spaces for insects that play a key role in keeping outdoor areas healthy. Many species help pollinate plants and keep ecosystems balanced. Urban environments often lack natural hiding spots, so insect hotels fill that gap. More insects mean more pollination, more plant growth, and more life in communal gardens.
They also strengthen biodiversity. A broader mix of species makes outdoor areas more resilient to weather, disease, and pests. Even a small structure can help stabilize the local ecosystem.
A small upgrade with clear impact
With these new insect hotels in place, our shared gardens become a little healthier and more balanced. It is a simple upgrade with clear benefits for residents, the environment, and the green spaces around our buildings. A practical way to keep nature close, even in busy urban areas.
